by one of the most revolutionary thinkers of all time. in yesterday's washington post, there was an article about a rare recording of gandhi giving a speech in english - it is absolutely remarkable - one, because he's speaking in english, which he did not like to do for speeches. two, because it's actually been preserved and three, because of what he says. the article talks about some of the mixed feelings about gandhi, and while i recognize he may have had faults, his ideas are absolutely stunning. i have found myself, in the past, thinking about what india could be like if he had not been killed - how would it be different. and to actually hear him speak makes me believe it could have been a whole new world:
