supercool

went to see r.e.m. last night at the garden, what a great show! it was sort of my first real introduction to their catalog, as i've only really followed their big hits, but it was awesome. of course, i loved hearing the songs that i know, but some of my favorites to see were drive, fall on me and the single from the new album, supersonic something. michael stipes was fun to watch, he is definitely less talkative/charismatic than bono but he moves a lot more, which sort of to me, just showed how much he enjoys his own music. it really just showed his passion for the music.... and it was just fun to watch his interesting moves. he also says supercool a lot and said "thank you very much" after almost every single song. they also sang a song i'd never heard called "leaving new york" which was just almost too much for me to listen to in my current state of immiment departure. still, they've got a new fan in me!
